Gandhinagar: After presentation of the budget the discussion over Budget is going on in Gujarat Assembly. During the session State Government, in a written reply, said the State Government earned Rs.12048.7 crore through tax on petrol and Rs.26682 crore through tax on diesel in 2 years. While the government has also earned Rs. 389 crore from CNG and Rs.126 crore during the period.
It may be mentioned here that state government levies 13.7 per cent on petrol, 14.9 per cent on diesel and 15 per cent each on CNG and PNG.
Replying to a query, State Government in a written reply said Government generated revenue of Rs. 6040.01 crore from petrol during 2021 – 2022, while Rs.12731.91 crore from Diesel during 2021-2023. Further a revenue of Rs. 191.75 crore from CNG during 2021-2022 and Rs.68.31 crore from PNG in 2021-2022.
