New Delhi: New cases of Covid-19 are continuously on rising in India for last few days. On Thursday India recorded 3,016 new cases, the highest in five months, according to the data by the Union Health Ministry. India has registered 40% rise in a day in Covid-19 cases. Meanwhile, seven deaths were reported with one in Karnataka and three each in Maharashtra and Kerala. Experts say the risk for Covid-19 has not been subsided till date. The daily positivity rate rises to 2.73%. The active cases now comprise 0.03 per cent of the total infections, while the national Covid-19 recovery rate has been recorded at 98.78 per cent, according to the health ministry website.
3016 new cases, seven deaths in 24 hours
According to the latest report released by the Union Health Ministry, 3,016 new cases of corona have been reported in India in the last 24 hours and 1,396 people have been cured. Due to the continuous increase in daily cases, active cases have reached to 13,509. The daily rate of infection is at 2.73 percent and the weekly rate is 1.71 percent in the country.
61% cases in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Kerala alone
In last seven days, there has been an increase of 78 percent in the cases of Covid-19 in the country. 8781 new cases have been reported between 19 – 25 March. Gujarat, Maharashtra and Kerala alone account for 61 percent of the total infected cases in the country. According to the data released by the Union Health Ministry, a total of 4,41,68,321 people have cured of infection so far, while the death rate due to Covid-19 is at 1.19 percent.
States advised to adopt ‘five fold strategy’
There has been a continuous rise in the new cases of Covid-19 for last few days. The central government is now in action mode. Meanwhile, the Union Health Ministry has advised all states to focus on the ‘five fold strategy’ of test-track-treat-vaccination and Covid-friendly behavior. The notification issued by the ministry says,” We will hold another mock drill to see the preparedness for Covid-19. Mock drilling will be organized very shortly in all the States/Union Territories.
